So I found this wicked site just now that I had never seen or heard of before, which is silly. It's the site for the Internet Archive, which is just a massive collection of open source media.
They have a live internet archive, which is basically a listing of artists and free legal bootlegs of their performances. And it's not all just a bunch of weird bands and musicians I've never heard of... but there are countless of those too. Check it out here, and it's also listed in the side bar of sites demonstrating free music.
Anyways, here's a small list of some of the names I recognize as I go over it the first time:

The Dark Knight – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack (2008)
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Summary/review:
If you've seen The Dark Knight in theatres, (which you should, multiple times,) you'll know that it's two and a half solid hours of epic insane win. Which Hollywood veterans Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have done an amazing job of scoring. I'm in love with the Joker's theme, (the opening track “Why So Serious?”) which plays off the same two notes for 9 minutes straight, altering them to sound like knives and other such scary stuff, forecasting the Joker's arrival. The track wouldn't sound out of place on a Nine Inch Nails record. Other than that, the score is just incredible, very progressive, although some of the later tracks slip into a more conventional sound of film soundtracks, a la Batman Begins.

This is the fifth studio album from the pair, and it's everything we could have hoped for, and more. Welcome! Now here's the plan...
I have made this blog for one simple purpose:
Sharing music amongst friends.
Sometimes, we want an album and are simply unable to find it. Or, we are torrentarded. Or we figure why go through the hassle when our friends can send it. Some of us just trust compadres better than the internet. So.
What I'm saying is this:
- I want 1-9 more people to work on this blog with me.
- Sign up at Blogger. Create a profile.
- Tell me your URL on this or through something else, and I'll add you to the blog, and you can post whenever you feel like it.
- Try to upload at least one file per week.
- Sign up with SendSpace. Or Megaupload.
- Copy song files from into a .zip file and upload to SendSpace and/or Megaupload. Clearly label the .zip file with the name of the artist and the album.
- Create an entry in this blog, linking the download link at the end. I'm going to throw a blog up right after this showing what I need done.
Oh, and always tag an entry with the artist's name and the album name as separate tags, so it's easier for people to navigate. And make sure that you start each word with a capital letter.
Cheers!
